Breakfast was excellent, the cottage gorgeous, and we loved admiring the craftsmanship and décor. The outdoor bath with a retractable roof was fantastic.

The Coal Miner’s Hut is beautifully crafted—an absolute delight with many thoughtful touches, old and new. We slept soundly in a very comfy bed, and the separate kitchenette/living area accessed through the covered porch was lovely. Homemade supplies like granola, sourdough, and oaty biscuits were tasty and appreciated. Di also pointed us to a great burger place in Westport for take‑away dinner. Everything was well equipped; we’d have liked to stay longer. Thanks to Di and Piet for a real treat!

A lovely place to stay, very comfortable with special touches that bring local history to life. The hosts and setting are wonderful. Highly recommended.

The owner was very accommodating, helping us with our food beyond what we expected, and advising us on places to visit. The cottage is charming.
