Sun Temple Palace

The place was quiet. It sits a bit outside the village, so you need to walk or take transport to reach the village where all the facilities are, but that’s manageable. I had to top up the internet when I arrived and the Wi‑Fi signal was weak. In my room there was no hot water immediately, the shower didn’t work at all, and there was hair in the sink. However, when I messaged the owner within minutes, I was moved to a different room that was even better and everything worked fine.

The host was friendly, the people were helpful and gave good advice, the food was delicious, and the bed was very comfortable! 😁

Clean, spacious, quiet, and with very good staff. It’s very close to the Saqqara pyramids. Very happy. I visit Egypt often and think it’s a good place to stay a few days and explore the pyramids. I’ll come back.

I received a free upgrade from the Nubian room to the Sunset room (not many guests). The Nubian looked fine, but the Sunset clearly had more class and I enjoyed the balcony. It’s a nice quiet break from Cairo & Giza. You’ll hear the prayer call and watch sunsets on your own pyramid. Cars disappear somewhere in Cairo, Tuk‑tuks move locals, raise your hand and you get a fun ride to the more famous pyramids down south. It’s a small town with village vibes, felt like the only white man on earth with friendly Egyptian people on the streets. I had no problems with the Uber transfer to the airport.
