Finding this spot in central Sapporo was a bit of a hassle; a small sign would have helped instead of just a street number, yet the host was friendly and the room was spacious, which I liked a lot. Because my trip was long, the host sent me the check‑in paperwork in advance, so I had to wait until I arrived to upload my passport online, which was a bit of a struggle.

The location was decent, the host’s child was polite and cute, but sharing a kitchen under the same roof caused many inconveniences; the room was obviously old, cleaning could improve, and the tatami was so worn that my socks got covered in dust right away.

The place was in a great spot and felt more like a local’s home than a tourist spot, and the family was very welcoming and helpful; the only snag was that our car was too tall for the garage, so I’d suggest booking a RAV4‑sized vehicle if you want to use the parking, though there are plenty of paid options nearby. A stroll to Postman Oak for coffee is a good idea. My husband had a hard time with the stairs after a 3‑hour flight and a 1‑hour drive, but he also has hip bursitis, so anyone else should be fine.

The room was huge, perfect for a group of six, and even though we shared a kitchen with first‑floor guests, the appliances were complete, including a deep‑fry machine, and the fridge had plenty of seasonings that stayed fresh.

“Be aware! This is not an entire house you are going to stay. You stay with property owner!”

The spot is decent, and the showers are better than most other things here. I was surprised to find that the owner shares the house and that wasn't mentioned until I checked in. The building feels old, which I don't appreciate, and the Wi‑Fi struggles when several devices try to connect at once; you only get a connection if you’re lucky.
