Probably the most beautiful lodge on the most beautiful spot in Timbavati. Tents with their own viewing deck and plunge pool are gorgeous. Compliments to the room girls who take care of everything perfectly. Drives with Darryl and Stuart were OK, nothing more. The lodge was flat, uncozy, unmotivated and the staff were unfriendly, doing their routine work. No butler service seen. Marketing nonsense. No interaction from management, they weren't engaged with guests. We had been in the area for years and wanted to try this top lodge, but it was a disappointment. A missed opportunity, because with the right attitude and genuine hospitality it could be one of the best lodges in Timbavati. Too bad!

Our stay at Simbavati Hilltop Lodge was outstanding! The staff were exceptionally polite, and our guide and tracker worked tirelessly to show us as much as they could while providing detailed information. The butler was sweet and attentive, accommodating to our food restrictions. Our room was consistently spotless and cozy. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back!

A very good lodge overall. We stayed two nights and left very happy: the location is privileged, it has exceptional views and the food is excellent. I think the lodge needs a bit of maintenance and attention to detail to reach 10. You can see the place is a bit old: a couple of pool loungers were broken, the bathroom floor was worn, the towels looked very used, the bedside mirror in our room was broken, our private pool had no cleaner, the room wasn't ready when we arrived, etc. My family and I stayed at another lodge from the same brand (Simbavati Waterside) and the standard was not the same: Hilltop needs to address those details, which in the end are minor and easy to fix. The truth is the place, in general, is very good: just needs some fixes. Also, the Hilltop staff were more serious: always attentive, but not outstanding.
