The location and the spacious room impressed me, especially after receiving a free upgrade to a city‑view room on a higher floor, and the breakfast spread was generous. However, the front desk assistance was lacking; when I asked in Dutch how to reach the IJ‑halls, the receptionist only spoke English, struggled to understand even then, and finally told me to look it up on Google Maps. Later, we dined in the restaurant for one evening, ordered a simple burger and pasta, and waited over 50 minutes for the food, though they did offer a free ice cream for the delay.
