“Fijn verblijf”

Nice location and view of the surroundings. It’s outside the village, so you need your own transport; the last bit is unpaved but doable. We ate wonderfully in the shared sitting room, and the owner takes good care of his home and guests.

Mustafa and his lovely wife were perfect hosts. The surf food was excellent, and we had very nice conversations with Mustafa and other guests. The common rooms in the Kasbah foster this interaction.

“Very nice host and lovely breakfast with beautiful views.”

The proprietor was wonderful. We had to arrive a day earlier because unexpected floods in the desert blocked the roads to our other location, yet he welcomed us even though we got there late in the evening after driving over 10 hours. The location was beautiful, overlooking the entire valley, and we could see snow on the mountains across the way. It was a bit difficult to get there at night because of heavy rain and the dirt road was a bit dodgy; it would have been better in daylight. We got lost leaving because the roads were washed out, but a young man on a motorcycle helped us find the way back to the highway. The beds were very hard, but I think that’s normal there.

“L’écolodge fait vendre mais ça ne devrait pas permettre tout et n’importe quoi.”

Nothing special. It’s 5 km from Midelt, and only 1 km of track is barely passable. Comfort is very rustic with minimal equipment. The breakfast is served on tables lower than the knees, and dinner is only available from 17:30 to 18:00.

The hosts were very friendly, the food was good, and the experience felt authentic.
