I found the place cozy and it was really close to the airport, but there was no bidet or a pail in the toilet. Aside from that, it was a great spot for a day or two, though we almost got lost trying to locate it because the building is hidden and you have to ask locals for directions.

I had a great time at Mactan Hostel: the rooms were clean, cozy, and affordable, and the small kitchen with a refrigerator let me cook my own meals. A nearby BBQ spot added convenience, and the reliable internet was handy for work or staying connected. The only downside was the location, which can be tricky to locate; using Google Maps and searching for “Franzone BBQ” shows a hostel sign in an alley that leads you to the hostel.

The hostel met my expectations with its clean facilities and surprisingly free food—noodles, water, soft drinks, and alcohol—something I didn't see elsewhere. The price was affordable yet the quality remained high. I was a bit concerned about the door on the CR; it’s hard to open and close, and sometimes it stays stuck even when we try to shut it. The location is really secluded and requires a guide to find, but overall I was happy with the stay and would consider returning when I’m back in Cebu. Thanks to the staff and the free food.
