“PINK SLIME MOLD”
The only thing that impressed me was grabbing a key from the box at 1am, though there were about 5 keys and anyone could have taken ours. The shower was disgusting, covered in pink mold. I asked the Indian guy in headphones—who seemed to roam the property all day—if he was the owner, and he denied it. I still showed him the mold, and he said, “oh well, there is a leak we will fix it.” I went to the front desk for the owner, and the staff told me it was that same Indian guy with headphones! I told them he had said he wasn’t, but the desk worker replied, “I know that’s how he is, I’m looking for another job.” Poor kid. I wanted a clean shower in the morning after checking in at 1am in the middle of nowhere, but I couldn’t shower because of the pink slim mold tub. Turns out this place is a Motel 6 that the Indian owner renamed to something more personalized by dropping the franchise, and now they don’t have to keep up with corporate standards like no pink mold in bathtubs and lying to guests.
