“Terrible experience.”
We booked an apartment, expecting a private unit as usual with listings labeled “apartments.” Instead, we were handed a single room in a shared apartment where the host lived. The whole place was cluttered with her personal items—photos, clothes, household goods—making us feel like intruders in someone else’s private life, which is unacceptable and below the standards we expect. The listing photos gave no hint of this. The apartment also had a strong dog odor. Check‑in was handled by the host’s neighbor, raising further doubts about transparency. We left immediately and asked the host for a refund, but she ignored our message and never responded. We haven’t received any reimbursement. She did offer a small gift for our next trip, which we appreciate.
A spacious, modern artistic apartment with separate bedroom and bathroom, while the kitchen, living and dining areas are shared with the host. The city centre is a 10‑15 minute walk away, and the host is very friendly and open. A paid parking space in a garage is available, and there is an elevator. The location on the B500 in a residential area can be a bit noisy if windows are open, but the bedroom remains very quiet, and there are parking spots nearby.
“Nette Vermieterin”
The landlord was very nice, and the apartment matched the photos exactly. A garage next to the house could be rented. The kitchen could only be used in the morning for breakfast preparation; the living area shown in the photos was not usable at all. No problem, but it would be better if that were clear in the listing to avoid false expectations.
The host was extremely friendly, and the apartment itself is very nice and comfortable.
