“Spacious individual chalets in a quiet forest environment, close to Kazinga Channel.”

We stayed in a single chalet for two nights, it was very spacious, comfortable, and quiet, with only the sounds of the forest around. The on‑site meals were excellent and the staff friendly. The property is very convenient for visiting Kazinga Channel – the boats depart just a 5‑minute drive away – and the rest of QE National Park. We had a minor problem with our rented car on the second day, but they helped us resolve it quickly – many thanks again!

A last‑minute booking that worked out perfectly; the spot is in the center of Queen Elizabeth National Park, quiet with birds and greenery yet close enough to the main road, and the staff are friendly and the place is well run.

The food was tasty, the site sits close to the national park and looks charming with its main building, friendly staff and safari‑style cottages that are comfortable; there were no wild animals roaming and the whole complex is fenced in.

Staying at Irungu Safari Lodge felt like a comfortable home right inside Queen Elizabeth National Park, especially in our family cottage with two bedrooms and two bathrooms that fit us perfectly. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the meals were tasty. The drive to the lodge cuts through a local school’s grounds, giving an intriguing first look at the area. Wi‑Fi only works in the restaurant, but the lodge’s own boat lets us book direct Kazinga Channel tours, and the sunset cruise with its guide was a highlight. It’s also a solid base for exploring the park, nearby salt lakes, Lakes George and Edward, and the spot where the Southern and Eastern Hemispheres meet. Overall, it’s a practical, pleasant spot for park adventures, though the road nearby means you might want a quieter cabin farther from the traffic.

The family cottage was very spacious with two bathrooms and the staff were as friendly as ever. The room was a bit dark, and the electricity kept flickering, but that’s a common issue across Uganda.
