We returned to the Valley of the Swallows after about six years because the place just grabs you. We stayed again in the spruce cabin, which is clean and fully equipped. Shared bathrooms and toilets are fine here because it’s clean and the manager takes care of everything. Beautiful nature and calm on the premises embody our idea of relaxation, plus a sky full of stars above us, because you’ll find the light smog here in vain. You don’t just drive to the Valley of the Swallows once; you come back. There are many beautiful spots for hiking around, and by car you’re within a friendly distance of many interesting historic sites. Next time we plan to stay in a Scandinavian cabin.

The owner’s attitude was sincere, the place was quiet, calm, with a great atmosphere, a cozy cabin, nice surroundings, and the animals in the area were also good; there was a chance to grill over an open fire, clean and fragrant laundry, etc. The showers, sinks, and toilets could use renovation, and the bathing area was quite uncomfortable; the kitchen in the cabin (the cabinets inside) wasn’t very clean and there were many ants. The price feels a bit high given the benefits.

We’ve traveled a lot, but we’ve never found a place as quiet as this one. If you love walking straight out the front door and immersing yourself in nature, this is the spot for you (: Those who mind finding three different mugs in the cupboard might want to book a 5‑star hotel instead.
