The historic nature of the property, the people, the breakfasts, and the location in the middle of town. Also the surprise tour of the botanical garden right across the street. Be sure to read the history of the casa in the entry area (see photo). Our room was chilly the first night but an extra heater made it comfortable for the rest of our stay

The hotel has a beautiful courtyard, free water and tea. What really sets it apart from other accommodations is the owner Rosemary. She was incredibly helpful with tips about public buses, restaurants, etc. I would recommend asking her for a tour of her botanical garden directly across the street. Her father was a botanist and laid out the garden, she herself is an entomologist and has added a small museum to it.
