The Podere Conte Ràcani has good potential: the area is very peaceful, you sleep well thanks to the silence and good mattress. The garden has a well‑kept pool, great after a day of walking or cycling. They offered us fruit, tomatoes, and eggs from the estate, for which we’re still grateful. The welcome was also very good even before we started our stay, as we could leave our two bicycles in storage for a week and pick them up when we began our holiday at the estate. The place is admittedly a bit run down; we’re a couple who can adapt and aren’t scared by a few cobwebs, but I have to say we found our apartment quite dirty: it seemed only superficially cleaned, and a thorough vacuum would have helped. Wallpaper was peeling, signs were faded or rusted… The apartment’s equipment is minimal; I’m not saying a washing machine is essential, but having one available in a shared space would be nice, especially for longer stays. At least a kitchen rag, a non‑slip mat in the shower, a working corkscrew… Our apartment “I Cipressi” had a large sliding door that we had to keep closed because of the many mosquitoes; a partially open mosquito net would be a good addition.
