“Well worth a visit as it's unique and quirky and everything was made that way by it's owner.”
As a solo female traveller, this guest house was absolutely ideal. I felt safe and instantly welcomed, as if at home. I would recommend dining in, because the meals are wonderfully homemade and delicious, and you can chat with other guests and the owner while she talks about the house’s history and the area. I will always remember my stay here. Many hotels feel bland and soulless, but this was the exact opposite—warm, friendly, and relaxed. Everything was homemade, even the bread and the wonderful jams offered at breakfast. The host also supports other local suppliers and businesses. The only downside was that there wasn’t a lot.
“Verblijf in Pension Jaunsen is een experience!”
Pension Jaunsen’s personal touch is truly special. The building is very old, with an antique interior, and the owner does everything she can to make guests feel at home. Rooms are cleaned daily, and a genuine Norwegian meal is cooked each day, with guests signing up and the owner sharing stories about the building or its former residents. A cider tasting is offered, breakfast is extensive, made entirely from local products, and the owner also gives tips on nearby sights.
The establishment has a charming atmosphere. The room is very small, and there is no sink in the bathroom—only a simple hand wash basin.
“Repetiriamos”
The place is well‑located, the beds are comfy, and the staff are friendly. Breakfast is very filling. You have to climb a steep set of stairs, but if you know about it beforehand it’s not a shock.
A light hotel with a historic vibe. The breakfast is hearty for the size of the hotel. It’s nice to have some locally produced food. The price was too high.
