Lamon Guesthouse

The place is in a quiet, safe spot and the staff are friendly. I booked Room 2 at Lamon Guest House because it had a kitchenette, which mattered to me. When I checked in, the owner told me to move to Room 5 because it was supposedly bigger, and I agreed. Later I noticed that the guests in Room 1 were white and the guest next to Room 5 was Black, which made me wonder if the move was based on racial composition rather than size. If that was the case, it was deeply disappointing and uncomfortable. The guest house itself is beautiful, clean, and has a lovely atmosphere, but the experience left me with mixed feelings because I expect fair treatment for everyone regardless of race.

The décor is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and well kept. The staff were friendly and quick to help. Meals arrived on time and were well prepared. The gardens are also beautiful and well maintained.

“Good for a short stay.”

The property itself is beautiful, and the garden and pool add aesthetic value. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The bed was comfortable and the outside seating nook was a nice touch. The toilet seat was broken, the flush didn’t work properly, and after a storm the toilet water ran brown overnight. The Waka TV and WiFi system struggled throughout our stay.

“Room and location lovely however- No WIFI- so TV also didnt work no hot water in the morning”

The room was lovely and clean, but there was no WIFI, so the TV didn’t work and the shower had no hot water in the morning.
