The facilities are wonderful. The check‑in took far too long.

The place had a charming vibe and lovely gardens. However, my room smelled of mildew, which they claimed was a sulfur odor, but I didn’t agree. The heating and cooling unit kept making a strange noise, and I wondered if the filter had been changed because of the mildew smell. The room got very cold, so I switched it to heat, but then it became too hot. I don’t think the unit works efficiently. I also had to wait a couple of times to speak with someone at the front desk. I felt like a child having to line up for a breakfast voucher, and there was nobody at the desk for several minutes to get it, which was annoying. On top of that, I went to get coffee at 6:45 AM and there was no coffee available anywhere.

At least the bedding was clean. The tub filler was loose and leaking, and the shower barely had water pressure. The tub itself was filthy, so I had to clean it before using it. Most of the room furnishings—chairs, table, and sofa—were broken, dirty, and worn. When I checked in, there was an additional charge that wasn’t disclosed by the resort or the agent. The invoice listed all charges as included, but the agent wouldn’t honor that. The grounds were overgrown and poorly maintained.

The room was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. The mineral jacuzzi and pool were very relaxing. The gardens and grounds were beautiful, and it was a super short drive into downtown Ashland. The coffee maker should be larger for a 4‑person room, and a few more hooks or towel bars in the bathroom would be nice for the Queen Deluxe.
