“Its a "WHY NOT" kinda hotel if u got time to kill and see the best rooftop in Bangkok.”

The property is very pretty and sits in an iconic skyscraper in Bangkok; the design is cute but not elegant or comfortable. The red halls were fun at first, then they felt too dark. The rooms are narrow but comfortable, and I liked ours; the bathroom is excellent. Room service was good, but the front‑of‑house staff were average, a bit unresponsive, and sometimes curt. Housekeeping was excellent—polite and friendly. The restaurants and food options at the hotel are excellent. The area is sparsely populated compared to the main Sukhumvit area, but it’s still fun for a day or two. I usually book a few days and extend if the experience is good; the temptation to stay longer didn’t arise. Some hotels overhype themselves, and the Standard was definitely one of them. The front office and reception staff need fine‑tuning. The smoking area feels like you’ve been banished from civilization and forced to hide; it’s frankly cheap and inconvenient for guests. For the room rates charged, there is no excuse.

“Excellent staff and hotel”

My recent stay at The Standard was fantastic. Super breakfast, fantastic rooms. The man by the pool was extremely friendly and clearly enjoyed his work. Special mention for Yok and Namliem. They were very helpful when my cell phone was unfortunately stolen by a Bolt driver. Also thanks to assistant manager Aun and assistant front desk manager Wut for their professional competence. Top hotel
