We initially booked the wrong Hilton Garden Inn in Chengde, expecting a peaceful stay with a garden and mountain view. Turns out it was in the noisy city center, old and run-down. We switched to the other Hilton Garden Inn, this one in the High Tech Zone, and it was a totally different story - quiet, clean, and modern. The location was great, close to the high-speed train station, with loads of affordable restaurants and a supermarket nearby.
