The hotel was just okay—nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The rooms were clean enough, the staff were polite but not especially friendly. Overall, an average place to crash if you don’t have higher expectations.

The spot’s location is decent and there’s a YHA nearby that offers similar rates, so you could get better value elsewhere. Unfortunately, the welcome note felt hostile, basically telling you that snorers and talkers aren’t wanted in the dorms, which kills the whole hostel vibe of meeting people. The room itself reeked, the AC was off, the bedding was dirty with hair on the sheets, and a huge mosquito kept me up; the squat toilet was filthy and the shower barely dripped.

Being right next to the subway, West Lake and a lively shopping area made getting around a breeze, which was a real plus. On the downside, there was no kitchen at all, no hot water, so I had to buy bottled water, and the advertised free bike rentals never existed.
