I didn’t get any breakfast, and the room had a strong smoke smell even though it was marked non‑smoking. Outside the room there were stand‑up ash trays that looked disgusting, and some rooms were occupied by permanent residents who set up plants and chairs for smoking in the outdoor area.

The place was better than any hotel in Gray, and the staff were excellent. We brought our dogs, and they charged $15 per night as advertised online, even though we saw a $10 rate elsewhere; they stuck to the listed price, so it felt safe and worth it. Cleanliness could use improvement, maybe with new paint and furniture, but for the price and location it was great.

The staff were friendly, but the room wasn’t very clean; the towels were about 20 years old and small, the lighting was poor, and there were no blankets—just a top sheet.

The manager was truly kind and made everything I hoped for happen. Nothing else was wrong.
