“Excellent séjour”

The welcome was excellent, the bedding was comfortable, and the French breakfast was good. It was a convenient base for visiting Lisieux and the Norman countryside.

“External appearance good, shame about the interior.”

Breakfast was excellent, the location was quiet, and the chateau looked attractive from the outside. However, the chateau has been poorly modernised with little attention to guest safety. My wife entered the office at the manager’s request and tripped over an unmarked high metal bar on the doorstep, falling onto the drive outside and injuring her face, knee, and hand. She needed hospital treatment the next day after x‑rays revealed a broken bone in her hand, requiring a splint for the next four weeks and costing 97.15 € at the pharmacy. I hit my head halfway up the stairs when a full‑size door covered a 1.5‑metre‑high room. Our friends had an unmarked step between their bed and the bathroom, which they had to move a piece of furniture across after initially tripping over it. The manager seemed oblivious to these defects and offered no compensation for my wife’s injuries.

“Perfekt und sehr schön.”

The accommodation was unexpectedly large, cozy, and very quiet. A huge living room, a spacious bedroom, a large, comfortable bathroom, and a separate toilet. A good starting point to explore the Pays d’Auge.
