“Spacious basic place for decent price that is good for Ottawa visitors with a vehicle”

The place itself is pleasant and the upstairs neighbors are friendly, plus the Wi‑Fi works fine and the basics are all there. Just remember the “parking” is actually on the street, so in winter you’ll need to keep an eye on snow removal—city crews can tow a car if it blocks them. Also, the owners tend to work late into the night, which isn’t a problem in summer but can be a nuisance when it’s cold out.

I liked the private basement unit – the bathroom was spotless, the beds were comfy and the host answered every question quickly. The room did have a bit of dust that made my nose act up, and early mornings were sometimes noisy with a child’s cries, which woke my own kids as well.

“Nice basement unit not far from downtown ottawa”

The basement suite is roomy, with a large bathroom, a functional kitchen, a comfy bed, a desk, and a big TV. There’s also a spare room with a pull‑out couch and a fireplace. The only downsides were the air‑conditioning blowing way too cold and the kitchen lacking a coffee maker – I left a Bodum for the next guests, though.
