The air‑conditioning was a relief in the heat and I liked being in the city centre rather than an industrial area, though it would be nicer to have a morning beverage dispenser on site.

The hostess who greeted us that afternoon was fantastic; after a 7‑hour train ride and a half‑hour walk in the sun with a big suitcase, I was welcomed with a hot shower, a coffee and a madeleine, and she gave great restaurant recommendations for dinner, while the breakfast was complete, everyone we met was genuinely pleasant, and the hotel’s location away from the city centre provided a noticeable peace.
