Overlooking Weymouth Bay, the 19th‑century Channel View Guest House offers colourful, cosy rooms—some with panoramic sea views—and free Wi‑Fi. Each room includes a TV, dressing gown, hairdryer, en‑suite bathroom, and tea/coffee facilities. Guests dine in a bright sea‑view dining room serving full English and vegetarian breakfasts. The beach lies 15 m away; the rail station is a 5‑minute walk.

It’s a lovely spot to stay. The room offered an amazing view of the bay and felt cozy. Melanie made us feel at home, cooked great food, and helped us get to an early meeting without any hassle.

The location is fantastic and the host is a genuinely nice person. However, the place was dirty—carpets, stairs, and the bedroom looked grubby. The area under the bed needed a thorough cleaning, and the appliances and furniture were old and dated. I’m sorry to give a lower score to Melaney, but the room isn’t a clean, modern space to stay.

This was the most amazing place to stay. The host was warm and friendly, and she made me breakfast to take out and eat on the beach most days—or I could have a full English inside. I stayed in the ‘tiny’ room, which was small but not uncomfortable. I could lie in bed and gaze out the window at the sea, and there was also space to write, which was partly why I was there. There was a small fridge and fresh cake in the room. The view of the sunrise over the sea in the morning was perfect. The beach was quiet, and it wasn’t a long walk to town, the clock tower, a bus stop, or the train station. Nearby eateries were available, and about a mile walk led to the far end of the Harbour with plenty of options. I’m tempted to return to Weymouth just so I can stay here again. Absolutely nothing to fault it on.

Melaney is an amazing host and hotel manager—super friendly and everything is well organized. I appreciated the booklet with local recommendations and the fridge stocked with milk, water, and snacks. Breakfast was lovely. The view—looking straight at the sea and hearing the surf at night—is absolutely special. The bed was a bit creaky/squeaky, which made me toss and turn.
