The only downside was the heating blasting in a windowless room, which made it feel a bit suffocating. Also, the bathroom is tiny and stays damp.

We paid $240 a night for a remote hotel that turned out to have no hot water or heating on arrival, and the whole building seemed to be shut down to save money since we were the only guests. Our driver and guide stayed nearby and enjoyed proper hot water and heat, which made us wish they'd warned us ahead of time. To top it off, the electricity went out the next morning until someone finally flipped a switch.

The staff were genuinely attentive, but the $31 dinner buffet left a lot to be desired with very few choices and no à‑la‑carte snack option like the one offered at the Palácio de Sal, which is part of the same group.

The team was warm and helpful, breakfast was good, and the rooms were super comfy with a solid bed, thermal blanket, heaters in both the room and bathroom, and a hot shower; they even stocked toiletries and left a tasty chocolate for each guest. Wi‑Fi worked fine and they upgraded us to a double‑bed room on the second stay, plus they prepared coffee to take when we left early.
