A cozy hotel with a large garden and a view into nature. The rooms are pleasant and have everything you need, except Wi‑Fi. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food at the restaurant is good. Many of the employees speak very little English, which is a drawback.

The central location is perfect for exploring Sulawesi, and the hosts are very kind. The room is spacious, fairly clean, and decent. The outdoor lobby is nice for chatting with other travelers or just relaxing. The mosquito nets above the doors are in bad shape, so sometimes they open onto the outside; I had to use adhesive tape to fix them myself, and I didn’t get bitten, but it could use a renovation. The crowing of roosters and barking of dogs from the neighborhood is especially loud, even for someone used to Asia. The bathroom door locks when you “slam” it even without force (the vibration triggers the mechanism), so you have to ask a staff member for help, which happened twice the same day 😅. There is no laundry service or recommendation for renting a scooter. I had to tour several hostels to find a reasonably priced one. Breakfast is not included in the price, and for better value you should go to the café across the street, which is very good.

The location was good, the staff were very kind and accommodating, the place was relatively clean, but be careful about the church noise right next door. The noise was a problem.

The hotel is overpriced compared to other options in Rantepao. There is almost never any hot water, and when there is, it is barely hot—usually just lukewarm, so you must take cold showers. The staff try their best, but the owners seem to cut costs everywhere. The hotel needs renovation. We fell ill because of the lack of hot water. Soundproofing is terrible; you hear everything your neighbors do in the next room, even farting. Every morning you’re woken by prayers from the temple next door, and you may have to rise at 4 a.m. to the sound of prayers. If the owners read this, I strongly recommend fixing the hot water issue. We, along with five others, moved to other hotels after getting tired of cold showers. You’re losing more money from guests leaving than you’re saving on electricity by not maintaining proper water temperature. I’m giving the hotel 2 stars instead of 1 only because the staff try hard.
