The Haven in Rothbury is a charming guest house offering free public Wi‑Fi and rooms with private bathrooms, bath or shower, hairdryer, toiletries, carpeted floors, TV, electric kettle and wardrobe. Guests enjoy a lounge, outdoor area, refrigerator, sofa and kitchenware. Located near Cragside Hall, Alnwick Castle and Cartington Castle, it receives high praise for its breakfast and attentive host.

Thanks for a lovely, comfortable stay, just a stone’s throw from the high street and a great breakfast. I also used the garden seating area with lovely views. The bathroom feels a bit tired, but I’d still come back.

The place is in a good spot off the main road, with pubs, restaurants and shops all a short walk away and the coast just a half‑hour drive. The owners are very friendly and the breakfast is great. I can’t think of anything to add.

The suite was lovely, with a lounge area that had a small kitchen and a bedroom and ensuite that were very clean; the bed was probably the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept on. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices, and there was plenty of on‑site parking. The location in Rothbury was good, making the overall stay excellent. However, the steep steps up to the front door were a hassle, even though a slightly longer walk up the road would have been easier. I also felt the host should have introduced himself; I never learned his name and he didn’t really engage with us.
