“Hopeless”

This resort isn’t suitable for families with infants or kids; it might be adventurous for young people. There’s no Wi‑Fi, but you can see crabs. We booked it, but after an instant booking we couldn’t stay for even half an hour. The hotel took the full advance for three rooms and didn’t refund a single penny.

“I just loved it from the bottom of my heart!!!!”

I agree with the comment that this place delivers a pure Robinson Crusoe Experience; it was one of the most beautiful experiences ever for me! The staff are relaxed and friendly, the cottages are genuinely clean and tastefully decorated. The location is isolated from the island, making this corner feel simply paradisiacal—back to the roots! After weeks of traveling, this was the spot I left with tears! Be sure to check out the Vibes and Dives Terrace and let Neil, the neighbor across the street, show you around—such lovely people! Still, there are a few things to mention: it is truly an eco‑accommodation. Between me and the surrounding nature there was only a mosquito net at night; one evening I found a spider in the bathroom as big as my hand, mosquitoes, geckos :) and other critters are definitely present. Don’t leave food unattended, the rates can also come, and yes, termites are slowly eating everything (this also happens in other Andaman accommodations—at Havlock I had a “luxury” room, four times as expensive, and could hear the termites chewing at night). I would recommend booking the Gecko quickly while it’s still available, before it’s replaced by something modern and separated from nature—I really hope it doesn’t happen!

“Nice location but services lacking”

We liked the room and the location being quiet and rural; I’m very close to the beach. The kitchen opening hours didn’t seem to operate well. I waited over 15 minutes at breakfast time for someone to appear but the cook never did and the manager was busy doing bookkeeping. I think a little more care with the upkeep of the property in terms of cutting back vegetation along the path, cleaning up cow manure on the footpath, and making sure all the lights work down the footpath because it’s quite dark at night. The toilet in our room was not flushing properly; it was tried to be fixed, but unsuccessfully. We were offered another room, but nobody followed up.
