I loved this room and the lovely balcony & view; it was so refreshing. I didn’t like that the room had ants everywhere and they got into all our snacks. Besides that, it was okay.

Scenery was awesome; it’s a very pretty place. While I was there I met two employees who were both very nice – Dragon and Katie. My room was clean and the heat worked well; it was fine for me. I enjoyed my stay in this odd cabin compilation. The place was odd because there were at least several “permanent residents.” The Indian decor felt odd in VA. Many of the buildings were falling apart – the sauna and hot tubs weren’t available. The boat was filthy, full of people’s clothes and half‑drunk bottles of booze. The cat walk was shut down because a big chunk of it was broken. While I liked the people, it’s not a spa in any sense. It is a group of cabins on the Blue Ridge Mountains. They offer cleanliness and a great view, but that’s it. No check‑in desk, reception, manager, etc.; it’s not a hotel/spa.

We really liked the shared space – we barely used it! The décor was surprising and added to the vibe. The bedroom was fine and even had a small fridge. The communal kitchen was handy, and we could also dine at the outdoor fireplace or in the big hall. The shared bathroom worked well; it seemed we were the only ones using it since most other rooms have private baths. It was very quiet, with hardly anyone around in the evenings or mornings (we spent the whole day hiking in Shenandoah). The location is great, just 20 minutes from the Swift Run entrance to Shenandoah National Park. The room did not have storage or hangers for clothes. The sauna was nice (we had to start it with firewood) but could use a more private area to undress or relax in the fresh air; a wooden deck would be a nice touch.

The privacy was good. The downside was that the bathroom was separate from the room. No staff could be reached or found to answer questions. Ants in the kitchen quickly attach to you if you get too close to the countertops. There was no signal for phone or text. Nothing else to do or see.
