Quinta de Tapada is truly a special spot; as soon as you push open the double doors you feel like you’re in a family villa from centuries ago, and that’s accurate because the charming owner—who is also the mayor of the village—was born and raised there. The walls are covered with black‑and‑white family photos, some centuries old. The rooms, each with its own full bathroom and stylish wooden furnishings, offer a beautiful view of the mountains. My daughter, son‑in‑law, and I had our own terrace with two spacious seats, and we sat there for hours. Breakfast was delicious too, with plenty of fresh fruit and warm rolls. We’ll definitely return!
