The location is truly beautiful, but the holiday was made so much better by the friendliness of the staff and the excellence of the river lodge and the restaurant. If anyone wants to experience true NZ hospitality, this is the place to be; it is exceptional and we will be coming back in the future.

The place offers secluded and luxurious amenities. Coffee drinkers are accommodated, but tea drinkers receive a tea bag instead of leaf tea.

It was a peaceful retreat and easy to relax, except when the mower was running! The mower was the only issue.

The setting, the understated luxury of the lodge, and the quality of the tasting were great. The breakfast was fine but lacked protein besides their yogurt and fresh fruit.
