Beautiful location on the beach, which is surprisingly clean… The food is very tasty, although unfortunately a bit too European for us. We would have preferred fresh juice for breakfast instead of concentrate. Standard Indonesian issues persist: faucets and showers are broken (the sink sprays in all directions, the toilet shower doesn’t work, the shower head has to be held during use), water doesn’t drain in the bathroom, and the bathroom could use another cleaning.

“Calm beach, big room and very good food”

We stayed in a huge room, the food was excellent, and the beach right in front was wonderfully calm with a nice snorkeling reef just offshore. The longer we stayed, the more we fell in love with the place. It’s a peaceful spot if you’re happy to spend your days at the resort and in the sea, especially with a 1.5‑year‑old. Breakfast portions were sometimes a bit small—though we had enough for two, the toddler ate all the pancakes— and there’s almost nothing to do nearby, so everything happens at the accommodation, which you should know before you come. On arrival we were told we’d be charged extra just to put a mattress on the floor for our child (no cot available, which was fine), but the final bill showed that rate per night at a steep price, leaving a slightly bitter feeling. I also got a sigh in response to simple questions, which made me hesitant to ask. Nothing major, but at this price it would be nice to avoid these small irritations.

SunMoon Private Resort & Villas was a lovely place to slow down and enjoy the beauty of North Sulawesi. The setting feels peaceful and private with beautiful views of the volcano, a relaxed beachy atmosphere, and plenty of space to simply sit back and enjoy the surroundings. The villa was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, and the private beach and outdoor areas made the stay feel especially relaxing. It is the kind of place that works well if you want a quieter alternative to a busy hotel somewhere to read, swim, watch the light change in the afternoon, and have an unhurried break exploring the beautiful nearby beaches and gorgeous house reef. Andre the owner is welcoming and was so helpful throughout our stay, which made a real difference. The food was so fresh and full of flavor and the coffee and homemade beef was an extra bonus. As soon as we arrived our nervous systems relaxed and we were made to feel right at home and as soon as we left we missed the place! We really can't wait to return soon.

“Idéal”

Grand, comfortable, clean, quiet, beach magnificent at the foot of the rooms and very accessible for young children, food really excellent and generous (morning/afternoon and evening), very warm welcome. The nearby beaches are beautiful and wild, possibility to rent a car or scooter, the Tongkoko reserve is less than 1 h by car and can be done in a day (nice road). I recommend this hotel and this region of Sulawesi still very wild.

We had a very spacious and clean room. Toothpaste and toothbrushes were even provided. The food was fantastic and lovingly prepared. The owners are very warm, helpful and attentive. The room was directly on the beach. A very cozy, quiet, personal and very private place. I would come back anytime.
