The food was excellent and the accommodation was fine, but the free parking only had three spots, so on the first night we had to park in the public carpark next to the hotel and leave by 8 am to pay the meter. Wi‑Fi was only in the restaurant, not in our annex room.

The first‑floor room was nice, clean, spacious and the bathroom was good‑sized, all in a separate building from the main pub. Every expected facility worked properly, the pub menu was good, and breakfast was included and served again in an annex room away from the pub, with a nice full English breakfast that you could order. The rear car park held only four cars, but a reasonably priced public car park was next to it. Keys gave us 24‑hour access to the accommodation. The only downside was that we could only reach the first floor by stairs, so we requested a ground‑floor room for any future stays. The staff were attentive and helpful.

The place is clean, quiet and friendly, but parking is restricted and the room and bathroom feel a little run‑down.

The Talbot is a lovely place to visit and stay, right in the centre of Much Wenlock town, which is perfect. The staff are lovely, the pub has a great atmosphere with locals and visitors, the food is amazing, and we stayed in bedroom No2. The room is large with everything you could need, and the extra‑large king‑size bed was amazing.
