The meals we had were some of the best we've had in decades of traveling
It's just an hour from Kyoto by train, making it easily accessible.
Akira and Nono were always available to make our stay perfect.
We spent three nights here and it was the perfect amount of time to get a feel for the area and try our hand at farming and cooking.

“A Taste of Rural Japan”
I was really drawn to the idea of staying on a farm and experiencing rural Japanese life. The owners, Nono and Akira, were enthusiastic about sharing their way of life with guests, and it was great to see them in action. Weeding rice paddies with traditional tools was a fun and fascinating experience, and our room with futon beds on tatami mats had a lovely view of the rice paddy. Akira took us on a tour of the property and we even went firefly watching in the evening, which was a highlight.
“A Journey Through Time”
I was blown away by the exceptional service and delicious meals at Chabi Dining. The hosts welcomed us into their traditional home, which was carefully preserved to maintain its historical charm. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and surrounded by incredible hospitality. The atmosphere was both elegant and cozy, and the interior was impeccably clean. The culinary experience was outstanding, with fresh ingredients, perfectly balanced flavors, and beautifully presented dishes.
“A Peaceful Getaway in the Japanese Countryside”
Akira and Nono were always available to make our stay perfect. We loved cooking together in the evenings, using their fresh rice and vegetables. The Japanese breakfast was also excellent. Waking up to the greenery outside our tatami room was breathtaking. The heated mattress was a nice touch, and the homemade yuzu syrup was a game-changer. Akira even showed us around the garden, explaining the different plants and the rice plantation process. It was a high-quality, relaxing stay in nature.
“A Peaceful Family Getaway”
Our family of four had an amazing time staying on this beautiful rice paddy farm. The peaceful surroundings and lush green fields were a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. We loved cooking and sharing meals with our hosts, who made us feel like part of the family. Our kids enjoyed exploring the open space and watching the rhythms of farm life up close. The accommodations were simple but clean and comfortable, and we appreciated the opportunity to experience rural Japanese life.
“A Peaceful but Private-Lacking Stay”
We had a peaceful stay at this farm, but it was a bit lacking in terms of privacy. The shared bathroom was a bit of an issue, especially since you had to walk through the living room to get to it. Otherwise, the farm was a lovely place to relax and unwind.
