We felt right at home at the Strandhotel Sille. The owner‑run place has everything you’d want from a lakeside hotel: plenty of deck chairs, easy water access, a terrace with lake views, a parking lot, and SUPs available for use. The room was very spacious. Dining breakfast on the terrace was gorgeous, delicious, and generous.

Location, location, location – that’s what Sille delivers. Everything you’d expect from such an accommodation is there. The reception was exceptionally friendly, and while chatting happily, we were escorted to our room with luggage carried for us. A jump from the pier into the lake was perfect. Breakfast offered everything you could wish for. We did notice a few things because we were there at the end of the season. The house could use a renovation, which it should be able to get done during the break. Aside from the ripped wallpaper in the hallway and the crooked crystal lamps, a quick wet sweep of the lovely wooden floors in the rooms before guests arrive would help.

A lovely stay on the Wörthersee, away from the bustle on the other side of the lake. A charming old hotel, excellent food, and friendly service!

The hotel is very spacious, right on the lake. It’s not new, but it has charm. The restaurant was good, with a view of the lake. The weather was a drawback, but that’s nothing the hotel can control. It’s a bit remote, and there’s nothing else in the town.
