The property is beautiful. The rooms feel a bit tired and could use a deep clean – there were a few cobwebs over the bed. The hot breakfast is served in the lodge at the entrance instead of the main house.

The setting is great and the hotel feels very traditional. The road to the hotel has big potholes.

It was beautiful, decorated for Christmas, and the rooms were absolutely stunning, comfortable, warm, and very inviting. The food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast. The grounds are beautiful. The staff were amazing and very obliging. All in all, a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Thanks so much. I will definitely be returning.

On the drive up to the hall we were a bit disappointed because the driveways were potholey and it didn’t portray a good start; the initial driveway is shared with a riding college, which I hadn’t realized. Further down, turning toward the hall on a one‑way system, and upon parking up at the hall we were wowed by the venue and could see where the property began. (DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF) The exceptional customer care and attention to detail were wonderful; we arrived later than planned and were able to have our dinner delivered to our room. Nothing was too much trouble, Debbie went above and beyond to ensure we were settled and had everything we needed. As we were planning to leave at 7am the next morning and were so wowed by our beautiful room and bathroom we actually booked to stay another night so we could experience the whole venue in daylight and enjoy the dining room. The venue has everything and more, the bedding is beautiful, the bed is comfy, and the towels are soft and white. The attention to detail was shown in the care of the staff and the way the meals were presented, fine crockery and silver cutlery and crisp linen. Everything we enjoy about visiting places like this – we will definitely be back. The driveway up to the hall, although in daylight you can see this is because within their area they are updating and investing in the property, is a bit rough; their grounds are pristine and a pleasure to walk around.
