The bed was great. The room was spacious. It was pretty cold inside, and the shower was mediocre. The breakfast was very sparse, only bread, a jar of jam, and a bag of cereal.

I spent five nights at Rock House while visiting family I hadn’t seen in years after my mother’s death. The place was quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to town that I could walk back and forth on my own. I really liked the privacy of the studio. Pauline was always polite, and the studio was well‑stocked with tea, coffee, milk, and cereal. The bed was amazing and very warm. On colder nights, I was given extra bedding to stay cozy, which was a very kind gesture. I found the stay quite pricey for the level of comfort. The bathroom ventilation was inadequate, and the shower’s condensation was so heavy that everything got soaking wet—the walls, the floor, the toilet, and even the toilet paper. The towel rack was set at 70°C but didn’t dry the towels, which stayed damp. The room temperature was a problem because the heating shut off early; by 9:00 or 9:30 AM the radiators were already cooling down, making it chilly after the shower. I was told to keep the window open and the doorway curtain back to manage moisture, but opening a window in the cold made it hard to keep heat in. There was also a strict rule to turn off switches after 10 minutes. While I understand the water was hot by then and costs matter, having to monitor the switches so closely made it a bit difficult to relax.
