Close to the centre and easy to find, with late opening hours for a drink; the room was nicely decorated, the bathroom clean, the bed comfy, and there was good tea and coffee. A fan helped on hot nights. The shower had low pressure, and there was no shower gel or shampoo, plus breakfast wasn’t offered, which was disappointing, but I found something nearby.

The spot is unbeatable, smack in the middle of town and just a stone's throw from the castle. The breakfast that came with the room was just a continental tray, and the milk and yoghurt were left out for 24 hours; when I opened the milk carton it was already spoiled with lumps. I would have preferred a proper breakfast downstairs at the bar. The double room was priced normally for the castle events, which is expected, but the breakfast could have been much better.

The central location made walking to the castle easy, and the pub stayed open for drinks after the concert. The only downside was the high price of the room, but that was due to the concert and the number of people staying in Ludlow.

I landed in the heart of Ludlow and the bed was comfy, with a tidy, clean room. I was told at check‑in that the cooked breakfast was unavailable because the cookers were down, so I got a room‑service breakfast instead—no apology. It consisted of a banana, a small bag of mini Maryland Cookies, a chocolate au pain, a croissant, a Go Ahead bar, and a Muller Yogurt. The price felt inflated for what I received. There was no fridge in the room for the milk or yogurt that was handed out. I asked the landlady for a partial refund to cover two full English breakfasts, but she said I should contact the hotel instead. The shower was too hot and not adjustable, the toilet didn’t flush properly, and the bedside lamps had switches that were unreachable once in bed.
