We enjoyed a very pleasant, quiet stay in the quaint cabins that sit directly on a secluded beach far north in Nicaragua, not far from Chinandega; the cabins have AC and comfortable beds. The owner, Stacy, is friendly, informative, and a great storyteller, and the staff are wonderful. Lupe served as our cook and server and prepared excellent meals. The undeveloped beach to the north stretches on forever past mangrove forests and lava cliff formations. We did not venture south to Mechapa, although it seems like a pretty active fishing village. RBR is a good place to get away from it all.
