The free upgrade to a large room with a bathtub was great, and the upgraded room had a very soft single bed and a soft sofa; the view, transport, and location were all quite good. Even though the hotel is nearly 28 years old and the last renovation was six years ago, the facilities were comfortable, especially the elevator, which was fast and had no odd noises or smells. The breakfast the next day was awful, unappetizing, and scant; if the staff knew there were few guests, they should have been told beforehand. It seemed like they didn’t care, and when I asked about black tea, they didn’t add ice or even finish the pot, as if it was leftover from the previous day. If it was truly a small crowd, it made no sense to omit ice, and they never remembered to refill. The staff seemed lazy, checking the food once and then leaving. Also, the upgraded room’s TV was facing the toilet, which is a bit odd; if the door wasn’t closed, I woke up not from a morning call but from the room itself.
