Friendly staff made the stay pleasant, though the place feels a bit worn and could use a few repairs.

The beach‑side location is fantastic, and the pool and restaurant are both superb and comfortable.

The view of the sea was spectacular, and the restaurant’s vibe, food, billiards, and foosball were all great, not to mention the singer‑waitress’s kindness; she even offered a gesture of goodwill after a series of inconveniences. Unfortunately, the room and bathroom were very old, dirty, and clearly in need of renovation. The rooms were also very dim, the bed uncomfortable, sheets and mosquito nets stained to the point of not using them, and a bedside lamp didn’t work. There was no duvet on the first night, and the air‑conditioning broke down the next. The overall condition made me reluctant to remove my sandals from the room or bathroom. The plank walls let insects in; we even found a large beetle or cockroach in the room. The bathroom was even more concerning: very old, dirty, and dilapidated. The shower pressure was so weak that my daughter and I couldn’t wash our hair and had to use the pool’s cold shower. Toothbrushes and water bottles were only provided after complaint on the second day. The pool was very disappointing: cloudy water and a visible filtration system through a hole that seemed dangerous for children. My husband forbade us from swimming there. The hotel is also very close to a prayer place; while we respect religious practices, the calls, several times a day, were long and very close. We were woken at 4 48 am and the evening prayers were very present and repetitive. I understand that at Ekas, where tourism is underdeveloped, the facilities may be basic and “roots,” especially for surfers, but the price is far too high for the services, and the hotel is not suited for guests seeking a higher‑end experience. In short, it’s a “roots” hotel for surfers rather than a high‑end establishment. It’s a shame because the setting and view are incredible and the potential is real; with renovations and better upkeep, this place could be remarkable.
