I appreciated being able to rent a versatile vehicle that could go anywhere, along with rooftop accommodations, and the rental company supplied everything needed for cooking, sleeping, and snorkeling; the guy who rented it was helpful and kind. The vehicle was older, but it drove well; I had a flat tire and could not have changed it without the help of a park range. It’s important to watch all the rental videos before you go.

The contact with the owner was very good, the car worked great, and the rooftop tent was simple and easy to use; everything was well prepared for a camping trip. However, the car is old and needed a minor repair during the trip, though the rental company was aware of the issue and helped resolve it quickly and efficiently. There was a small drawback with the cleanliness of the cabinets and an unclean gas stove.

“Lived up to expectations. Really appreciated the flexibility and help from Nick”

I had an excellent experience with the vehicle's owner, who was incredibly flexible and accommodating. He provided me with a well-stocked vehicle that made me feel confident driving on the rough roads to Polihale. The vehicle came with snorkeling equipment and a two-person kayak at a reasonable price, which was a great bonus. However, I wish I had asked more questions about setting up the topper, as it caused some issues with the dashboard lights.

“Adventurous way to check out Kauai, with only a few quirks”

The vehicle's owner, Nick, was amazing at coordinating pickup, even meeting us after hours when we returned from a long hike. The vehicle itself was incredibly capable and ready to take on any terrain. The guide that came with it was super helpful, and I'm so glad we chose this option over a standard rental. The vehicles look cool, are very capable off-road, and were fun to drive.

The equipment and vehicle were top-notch, and I mentioned to the owner, Nick, that it could have been perfect if not for a few issues. Unfortunately, the pillows were stained, the sleeping bags and mattress were damp and had some unknown stains, and the bedding was in poor condition. It was a bit of a letdown, but I appreciated the owner's efforts to provide a great experience.
