Pandana Boutique Hotel sits on a hill in Lembongan Island, 200 metres from Selagimpak Bay. The hotel features a restaurant, 2 outdoor pools, and rooms with a patio. Air-conditioned rooms have wooden furnishings, natural light, tea/coffee makers, and private bathrooms with walk-in showers. Guests enjoy a body massage, fishing, diving, garden, terrace, and babysitting. Free Wi-Fi and parking are offered.

The view of the sea was stunning, but when we arrived we were shocked to find that the room we had booked was a connecting room that actually linked to someone else’s, which was a problem for our two kids. Make sure you confirm by email if you book through Booking. They offered a solution that worked out, though the cleaning was rough, the bedding felt old, the curtains didn’t seal the room completely (they’re blinds that let air through), so mosquitoes bothered us and there were no nets—just a little repellent, which isn’t comfortable for sleeping. Shampoo and shower gel weren’t provided, which is unusual in Bali. The hotel is fairly isolated, close to Tamarind Beach, which is lovely, but otherwise it’s hard to get around without a vehicle and taxis are pricier than usual in Bali. Around the area there’s a lot of construction and gravel, like everywhere in the island’s center. Still, the beach beauty, friendly staff, and good breakfasts made the stay enjoyable.

The view of the upper pool, the breakfast, and the staff were magnificent, though the location feels a bit out of the way.
