For my stay in Hirikityia to start surfing I didn’t want to be in the tourist area near the beach, so I chose a bit farther away. It was a good choice. The homestay is just a 12‑minute walk from the beach. The accommodation is in the house of a charming and very friendly family. The area is residential on a road perpendicular to the main road. You climb a spiral staircase. There’s a pleasant terrace overlooking the coconut trees, a kitchen furnished and equipped with the basics for cooking, and a fridge. The room is spacious, with a large bed, mosquito net, and fans. The private bathroom, separated by a glass partition, is spacious and the water pressure is good. Good value for money. Highly recommended. I would have liked salt and oil for my salads, but I think they’ll add them.

Nice large room close to the beach and restaurants, with a clean bathroom (with warm water in the shower). No AC.

It was a spacious and very comfortable room with a large garden outside, so it was very quiet at night, just a 10‑minute walk from the center which is super close but without the noise. The rooms were very clean and spacious. Nothing to complain about.

I had a wonderful stay! The family was lovely and welcoming. The location is great just a short walk to the beach, yet far enough from the noise to enjoy some peace and quiet. Highly recommended!
