It was a room, and I’m very different about it; the bed was comfy, yet the staff were more focused on their phones than helping me. My room was dirty, crumbs on the microwave counter, and crickets in the bathroom light made me look up to see dead bugs. The hot tub was broken. I paid $350 plus extra for rude staff for a room that was just tolerably clean, and when I told the staff, they replied that I needed to go through a third party to resolve it.

The room was a decent size, but there weren't enough pillows or blankets for all of us. The front desk staff never introduced themselves or greeted us; they seemed more like guests than employees. Bugs were in the bathroom.

The room was clean and the furniture was nice, yet the layout was odd: the TV could only be seen from the bed or the couch, not both. Bugs—dead and alive—were found in the hallways, and drug paraphernalia appeared in the parking lot. The price didn’t justify what we paid.

The staff were very nice and helpful, smiling and greeting us, but the facilities were terrible. The room sounded like an electrical transformer from outside the room, and the air conditioning didn’t work, leaving the humidity high and sticky. The bathtub’s silicone line was covered in mildew. The bed felt like an old wooden frame that made noise, almost like a hammock. Carpets smelled damp and bad. The breakfast area booths had broken seats, and I can’t understand what happened at the Hilton Inn here. It was a bad experience, especially since I paid $380 per night for an outdated, uncomfortable hotel.

I travel often to visit my mother in Altus, coming from Ft Worth, and my sister comes from Amarillo; we both like the facility. The pool was closed, and the staff were usually friendly but not this time.
