Even though it was off‑season, the accommodation in a nice setting was enough. However, when we arrived late, no one was waiting for us, and we were not even given access to the building; the contact phone was not reachable after 23:00. The host let two retirees over 70 stay in a car for the first night, and we were not charged for that night. The TV in the lounge only had Hungarian, and it couldn’t be switched to another language.

The large room in a beautiful house was great, and the location was excellent for the ice cave and, if you keep an eye on the bus times, also well connected to the other hiking trails. Communication and check‑in were handled smoothly via email, and requests were answered quickly. The lounge was actually cozy, but it would be better with more people. It’s not really relevant to the rating, but I was completely alone in the huge house at that time (which some might find uncomfortable), and there are no shopping options or open restaurants nearby in the off‑season (at least when the ice cave is closed and/or on Mondays).

The scenery and surroundings are pretty nice, but the soundproofing is zero.

It’s quiet and calm, and the operator is helpful. The opening hours of the Bistra are inconvenient.

The manager was friendly, and the spot is close to an ice cave. The stay was disappointing: the room wasn’t cleaned properly, and corridor noise was obvious all night. We booked two nights but left after the first because we didn’t feel comfortable staying longer, and no refund was offered for the unused night. We can’t recommend this place.
