Pension San Francisco sits in Vienna’s bustling pedestrian zone, a 5‑minute U1 subway ride from the city centre and 700 m from Belvedere Palace. Rooms feature spacious bathrooms; air‑conditioning available upon request. The U1 stops directly outside, linking guests instantly to the Main Railway Station, State Opera, Naschmarkt, Prater, Donauturm, and Vienna International Centre.

The spot is great, just 100 meters from the metro to the center, 10 minutes from the main station, and close to several supermarkets. Cleanliness is acceptable and the Wi‑Fi is good. The room itself is very minimal: missing items that most places take for granted—no fridge, no toiletries, no hanging rod in the wardrobe, few outlets in odd places. There’s no staff, and you can’t even leave a bag for a few hours. Reception is only open from 10 to 12 (when everyone else is out) and that isn’t even mentioned; I only found out after sending a message. The entrance is dingy and smells bad.

The room was great and very clean, everyone was very friendly, and the transport links are excellent.

The place sits right next to the subway and the staff were very friendly, but the overall condition of the property is really old. The carpet everywhere feels worn, the room fittings are mediocre, and there was a lamp on one side of the bed with no outlet. The shower drain didn’t work properly, the ventilation shuts off after five minutes in the shower and everything gets damp, the hair dryer works but should be replaced – it’s not expensive. Overall, it’s worn out and not worth the price.

The room was big, but the building is dilapidated and smells bad. There’s no shower, only a bathtub with a broken curtain, the area is noisy, there’s no luggage storage, no one at the reception, and the pillows have a bad odor.
