“Gutes Hotel für einen Städetrip”
The Hotel Burgschmiet is perfect for a city trip to Nuremberg, sitting right in the center and within walking distance of the Kaiserburg (5 minutes) and the whole old town. We love walking, so we also explored the Reichsparteitagsgelände on foot from the hotel, which takes about 60 minutes. The Grichts building with hall 600 is reachable on foot in roughly 25‑30 minutes. Bus and tram stops are nearby, so those destinations can be reached much faster. Our room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom, however, felt cramped, especially the shower where the entrance is squeezed by two folding glass doors. In a windowless bathroom, mold tends to appear quickly, and that is indeed happening here; it’s a common issue in many hotels. I think it’s better to replace it, which isn’t long or costly. In damp rooms without windows, this problem is almost inevitable. Otherwise, the hotel is well‑maintained and tidy. Breakfast was fine too – 17 € for everything. If you need a parking spot, book it early. Alternatively, there’s a public parking garage at Kinderkranhenhaus, a 10‑minute walk away, costing 25 € per day.
