The spot right on the water is unbeatable and the shared kitchen had everything you could need. Breakfasts were pleasant and the setting was lovely, but the bathroom had an unpleasant odor that was hard to ignore. Overall a great location, just wish the bathroom smell was fixed.

The scenery and surroundings are spectacular, with shops, restaurants and the beach just a short walk away, and the place sits right at the bottom of Tarrafal. The rustic décor and kitchen work fine, even the hot‑water shower was reliable, and considering how modest the locals’ homes are, it felt decent. The only drawback was the mattress being too soft for a good night’s sleep.

Staying in a village‑center house with a terrace that opens straight onto the sea made sunset watching a real treat, and George was helpful with restaurant tips, the Monte Trigo return, and pricing. There really wasn’t anything else to complain about.

The sea view was the highlight, but everything else fell short. The gate was locked and there was no welcome at the entrance; after a half‑hour we finally tracked down the German owner through friendly neighbours, only to be met with a rude attitude and no pre‑arranged check‑in time. We got no suggestions for hikes or eateries, the room was poorly insulated, the bathroom sliding door rattled loudly every time we moved, and there was no hot water.

No doubt about it—the location gave us a fantastic view that made the stay memorable.
