The spot’s location is great and the vistas are stunning, but the apartment itself was in poor shape—doors didn’t shut, a gecko wandered in, and the old furniture made us feel unsafe. The constant noise from boats and a loud speaker announcing prayers was also a problem.

The place was pretty neglected, not well maintained, and we booked five rooms but only received four, with spare beds that were on the floor. There was no complimentary water, the doors couldn’t close properly, and the chlorine level in the pool was so high that my blonde friend’s hair turned green.

The room was clean, original, and offered lovely bay views, yet the entrance felt like a creepy village that’s scary at night if you’re unfamiliar, with many stairs. The room itself was uncomfortable—there was a stone in the middle, the bathroom was a bit shabby, and there were no curtains so the sun woke us up. The worst part was the city’s Muslim prayers at 4 am, which, though not the hotel’s fault, sounded like a loudspeaker in your ear and lasted an hour, keeping us awake all night.

Leuke schattige huisjes met een balkonnetje en gigantisch mooi uitzicht. De moskee was behoorlijk luidt. Huisjes zijn niet geïsoleerd, waardoor airco ook zo goed als niks doet
